Learning Curve Group announce annual charity ball.
Learning Curve Group (LCG), have announced their annual charity ball will take place this October.
The National training provider’s annual ball is their biggest fundraiser of the year for the LCG Charity Foundation in partnership with County Durham Community Foundation.
This year’s event theme is A Night in Hollywood – and promises plenty of glitz and glamour.
LCG set up their Charity Foundation in 2019 on three main pillars: increasing skills, decreasing unemployment and alleviating poverty. Since then, the training provider, headquartered in Durham, has raised over £75,000 to support organisations and people across the North-East.
This year’s Charity Ball will take place at Hardwick Hall Hotel and raise as much money as possible for those in need. A Night in Hollywood will include a delicious three course meal, live entertainment, fundraising games and a chance for guests to dress to impress.
Brenda McLeish OBE, CEO of LCG, said: “I am extremely excited to announce the date and theme of our 2022 Charity Ball. This is always one of the events in the year I look forward to most as we get to play our part as a large employer and give back to our community.
Charity is rooted deeply in our values at Learning Curve Group, and I am very proud of the fundraising that our Purple People do all year round to raise money for our LCG Charity Foundation. I look forward to welcoming some familiar and new faces to LCG’s ‘A Night in Hollywood’.”
LCG partnered with County Durham Community Foundation so they could support multiple organisations every year. Previously the large employer would choose just one charity to support each year. The partnership allows them to split funds between organisations and the Foundation will match LCG with social enterprises that live the same values.
Alison Goulding, Communications and Development Manager at County Durham Community Foundation said: “It is great when we can work with businesses like Learning Curve Group who want to give in a really thoughtful and impactful way. LCG has supported some small, grassroots charities who are in the heart of their communities. These charities are doing such life changing and life saving work.”
So far in 2022, the training provider has over £25,000 to distribute and are currently taking applications for funds from their Charity Foundation. You can apply on behalf of yourself or as an organisation here
Last year LCG hosted a Charity Barn Dance with over 180 guests, which raised an incredible £13,000 for their foundation. This money went towards supporting organisations such as The Learning Library, The Cornforth Partnership and Lifeline Community Action. These charities are ones that often miss out on receiving large donations, so LCG wanted a way to be able to support them. This year LCG are aiming to beat that grand total of £13,000 and transform the lives of even more people across the North East.
