What is Poverty and what can we do about it?
Poverty has many meanings and affects communities in different ways. County Durham Community Foundation funds the local groups who know exactly what is needed in their postcode, whether that be food or the chance for local children to get a better education and so find decent work as adults. Often, it’s both. For nearly 27years, the Foundation has been working with businesses and individuals just like you, who can make a donation that helps in the short-term and in the long term.
Where will my donation go?
Say you decide to give £10. Firstly, we’ll add £5, thanks to a group of our generous supporters who help us match your generosity.
Now your donation is worth £15.
£10 will help a local group NOW – that’s every single penny of your original donation put to immediate use.
£3.50 will be invested to help our communities long-term.
And the final £1.50 will help support our small but mighty team to keep the lights on and make all of this happen.
We hate waste and faff and promise to use your donation efficiently to make a real difference.
What will my donation do?
Your donation will change local lives for the better, by making sure quality local projects get the funding they need to do their amazing work.
By partnering with County Durham Community Foundation you’ll help people aged nought to ninety – families struggling to put food on the table, elderly people who can’t afford their utility bills, young people leaving care and many more.
We’ll use our local knowledge and data systems to get your donation where it is needed.
