The amazing work that we do here at County Durham Community Foundation wouldn’t be possible without the help and support of our volunteers. Changing the lives of those who need it most in our community is an excellent way to dedicate your time and give something back.
We are always looking for new volunteers to join us and help us in our mission to improve life in the local community of County Durham and beyond. We have volunteer opportunities across a range of departments within the Foundation:
The way our grants are awarded is determined by our grants panel. This panel is made up of highly experienced volunteers who specialise in the issues we aim to tackle; from housing & homelessness, children & families, loneliness & isolation, the elderly and culture of the community. These volunteers give their time to help us determine where grants from your funds will be best placed to make a real difference.
Our marketing & office volunteers help keep us in order and spread the word about the amazing work that we do with the help of generous donors in the local communities. Our volunteers in this role also help to promote available grants and provide support with day-to-day admin duties.
Research into the needs of the local community is a crucial aspect of what we do, to ensure we are delivering grants to the people who need them most, across the areas that are of the biggest concern. Please keep in touch if you are interested in undertaking any research-related work regarding disadvantaged communities in County Durham & Darlington.
