As our thoughts turn to 2024, we wanted to take a moment to highlight just a few of the things we’ve achieved together this year. Thank you, to you, our supporters and community groups, who give so much and make a difference to so many.
Poverty Hurts exceeds target
Our Poverty Hurts Appeal has met and exceeded its £1 million target, and donations continue to come in.
Meaning we can distribute more money to more local people and community groups in County Durham.
28% increase in funds awarded
Since April, we’ve awarded 28% more in grants than we did in the full 2022/23 financial year.
The need is growing in County Durham as the cost of living emergency impacts more and more families.
Our report with Health Equity North revealed the stark reality of poverty and poverty of opportunity in County Durham and the Tees Valley.
And laid out a path for a better, brighter future.
Since April, we’ve made grants to 396 groups working at the heart of their communities to fight poverty and enrich lives.
We’re grateful for your continued to support, and look forward to the difference we can make together over the next 12 months.
