How it all began

Tia lives in Darlington with her family and has attended The Rydal Academy since 2012. Tia has Cerebral Palsy and needs specialist equipment that will enhance her mobility

Tia used to miss out on not being able to access social groups, such as the bike ability club that they run in school as the bikes provided are to heavy for the strength and flexibility in her lower limbs. Tia needs a light bike so that she is able to support the weight of it when she is starting and stopping. The school applied to us for a grant of £300 to purchase a light weight frog bike.

Making a difference

Having just started to ride she is starting to realise her dream of being able to ride a bike. What she needs now is to practice and develop her new skills to reinforce this, having a bike will now enable this.

With thanks to you

“Having the opportunity of receiving this grant has made a big difference. When the school presented her with the bike she broke down in tears of joy because this is what she has wanted for such a long time. I just want to say a massive thank you to you for this.Just keep doing what you are doing. Making families very happy indeed.”
