Acumen Legacy fund provides grants of up to £1,000 to unemployed people living in East Durham who are facing barriers to employment, skills development or vocational training programmes.

Who can apply?

Your application must be made for you by an appropriate person who will act as referrer or sponsor.

An appropriate person includes; a frontline worker who provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work in East Durham; a career advisor; a social worker; another type of support worker from a relevant registered charity, housing association or public sector organisation.

This person will be the point of contact throughout the application and provide information at the end of the grant term. Please note that they will most likely receive the funds and supervise how they are spent.

When to apply?

There is no closing date for application, meaning we will accept applications all year round.

If the fund has been fully awarded or if we’re not accepting applications, this will be clearly detailed on our website.

Before starting an application, please read the guidelines carefully to make sure that you’re eligible and that you have any documents to hand.

Grant Award Date:  can take up to 6 weeks from submission of application
