Winter brings a range of additional pressures and challenges; from the additional cost of heating to increased isolation. Funding from our Poverty Hurts appeal is available to groups meeting immediate needs and reducing the impact of poverty this winter. Activities should take place between November 2021 and March 2022.
Applications can be submitted for activities in County Durham
Who can apply?
There are no limits to the size of organisation that can apply, however priority will go to those organisations that can evidence that they can deliver significant impact locally.
When to apply?
There are no deadlines – applications can be made at any time
What type of funding can you apply for?
Funding is available to continue existing work or run winter only activities that address needs caused by or exacerbated during winter months. This could include (but is not limited to):
· food related projects, including ‘holiday hunger’ projects
· activities that reduce isolation
· advice on keeping warm and well over the winter
· providing winter essentials such as warm clothing.
