NHS Health Improvement Fund opened......

26 August 2013

The NHS Health Improvement Fund managed by County Durham Community Foundation (CDCF) is now accepting applications.

The fund previously run by County Durham and Darlington Primary Care Trust (PCT), an organisation that ceased to exist on April 1st, which was replaced by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), and its charitable activities continued as part of a health fund.

Ahead of the reorganisation of the NHS, the PCT transferred £300,000 for the next 2 to 3 years grant-making to a new charitable fund, to be managed by County Durham Community Foundation, which will support local health-related initiatives.

Charitable organisations based in County Durham or Darlington may now apply for funding of up to £10,000 per annum and up to two years, for projects that enhance the work of the NHS in County Durham and Darlington, and link in with the Health and Well-being Strategies for County Durham or Darlington. It is expected to continue in perpetuity due to the rest of the funds being invested.
