New heights reached by visually impaired children at Rock Antics

24 January 2011

Children with vision impairments were given the opportunity to reach new heights at the Rock Antics climbing centre on Sunday.

The outing was funded by a grant from County Durham Community Foundation and organised by Useful Vision, a charity supporting children with vision impairment in the North East.

"We are very grateful to The County Durham Foundation for funding our recent visit to Rock Antics at Newton Aycliffe. The families attending had a lovely afternoon scaling the walls at the climbing centre."

Useful Vision will be providing further opportunities for these children with the funding from CDCF, including another rock climbing trip, tactile farm visits and a horse riding session.
