CDCF and Durham Cathedral Celebrate Partnership

06 June 2011

County Durham Community Foundation (CDCF) recently held their annual Drinks Reception in the Chapter House at Durham Cathedral. The event celebrated the music endowment funds, created by Durham Cathedral and managed by the Community Foundation, and provided guests with the opportunity to experience some of the great work being done by these funds in local schools and the Durham Cathedral Choristers’ School.

Guests, including Roger Howell, High Sheriff of Durham, Les Thomson, Mayor of Durham and Lee Vasey, Mayor of Darlington, were treated to performances from the Durham Cathedral Young Singers, Liam Jones, BBC’s Young Chorister of the Year, and the Durham Cathedral Girl Choristers in the beautiful surroundings of the Chapter House.

Ward Hadaway solicitors sponsored the event and Jamie Martin, Managing Partner, spoke about their relationship with Community Foundations. Other speakers included Sir Paul Nicholson, Lord Lieutenant of County Durham, Reverend Canon David Kennedy, Vice-Dean of Durham Cathedral and Mark I’Anson, Chairman of the Community Foundation.
