ESF Community Grants 2011-2013

County Durham Community Foundation, in partnership with the Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, the Tees Valley Community Foundation and the Acumen Development Trust, has won the contract to deliver a £1.4million European Social Funding Community Grants programme across the North East from 2011-2013.

Criteria

This fund will provide awards of up to £12,000 to groups undertaking activities including help with basic skills, work experience, training advice and guidance, job search assistance, confidence building, personal development and support to overcome barriers to training and employment.


Target Group

The target groups are those individuals who are eligible beneficiaries of ESF Priority 1 funding in the region. This includes unemployed people and economically inactive people aged 18 years and over who are from the hardest to reach communities and who have difficulty accessing mainstream provision and/or ESF. Within this target group, participation of the following groups should be prioritised:

  • People with disabilities and health conditions
  • Lone parents
  • People aged 50 or over
  • People from ethnic minorities


Exclusions

  • 16-18 Apprenticeships
  • Offender Learning and Skills Service (OLASS)
  • Programmes for the Unemployed (PfU): Response to Redundancy; Young Person's Guarantees, 6 Month Offer; Employability Skills Programme
  • European Social Funding (ESF)
  • Adult Safeguarded Learning programmes: Family Literacy, Language and Numeracy; Neighbourhood Learning in Deprived Communities; Wider Family Learning; Personal and Community Development Learning
  • Formal First Step
  • Family Learning Impact Fund
     

Decision Making

Applications to ESF Community Grants 2011-2013 will be assessed by a panel every four months (June, October, and February). The deadline for applications is six weeks before a panel meeting (this is slightly different during round one). Successful applicants will be required to attend a post-approval contract meeting one week after the panel meeting - grant awards are dependent upon attendance at this meeting so please check the dates below to ensure you are available before applying.
