Glebe Road Allotment Association

There will be a few extra mucky hands in Darlington this summer after Glebe Road Allotments received support to help improve access the site in order to attract new users.

Whilst the allotments are used by many members of the community, including two groups of students with special needs from the local Education Village, access was becoming so bad that one member had stopped visiting the site after it became too difficult to get to.

The £4,492 grant paid for resurfacing the paths which has enabled students and elderly gain easier access to the plots.

Over 80 people have benefited from this grant; with a waiting list of even more people eager to get involved.
