Durham Bird Club

Established in 1974, Durham Bird Club has been recording the bird populations of County Durham for over 30 years now. The group is entirely volunteer led and they currently have 59 volunteers working with local authorities, schools and communities to promote conservation and volunteer work.

A grant of £3,000 has allowed the group to create and maintain the Castle Lake Biodiversity Project, preserving a vital area of wildlife habitat and creating educational and voluntary work opportunities for local schools and communities.
