Amy Jeff

Eight year old Amy has been practicing gymnastics since she was three years old. Local club Deerness Gymnastics Club, which has gained recognition for developing and grooming potential world class gymnastic champions, recently invited Amy to join their ranks. Specialising in tumbling, an acrobatic discipline practiced on a 25 meter long dynamic track, tumblers perform eight consecutive elements without interruption or change of rhythm. Amy practices at the club four times a week and has recently qualified for the British Gymnastics squad which will see her taking part in national and international competitions. Until she reaches the age of twelve, Amy is ineligible for financial support and subsidies from the British Gymnastics Association, and the costs of travelling to events, competition entrance fees and club kit are a strain on her family. A grant of £1,200 from the EBAC Fund covered the costs of a British Championship competition allowing Amy and her family to attend the competition without having to worry about their finances.
