Alice Hopkinson

Alice Hopkinson

Fifteen year old Alice has been skating for the past eight years. She has trained exceptionally hard during this time, an average of three sessions per week for three hours at a time, in order to get where she wants to be. Having skated in many national and international competitions, representing Great Britain on many occasions, Alice is currently ranked 6th in the national Under 19 category. Alice also recently achieved 7th place whilst representing Great Britain in Belgium where she was competing against skaters from six different countries. Unfortunately Alice’s success comes at a high price to her family as her travel, rink, coaching and competition fees amount to over £11,000 a year. Since 2009 Alice has been supported by the Guy Readman/TOR Coatings Young People’s Fund and the Fujitsu Kingsley Smith Fund at the Community Foundation, receiving a total of £5,748 to assist with this funding.
