Please read the guidelines and criteria before completing the application form.
Applications are invited from case, support, and social workers, or other professionals working in related fields with clients who are experiencing extreme hardship and have been unable to obtain funding from other sources.

Grants of up to £500 are available to families with children living in the household who are under 16 or in full time education, experiencing extreme hardship and need of essential household items. Examples of the type of things we fund include domestic equipment such as a cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer, household equipment or furniture such as beds, storage and bedding and children’s equipment such as cots, bunk beds, and pushchairs.

We will not fund carpets, flooring, debt clearance, or payment of utility or any other household bills.

Wright Funk Fund
In August 2002 a local family set up a legacy fund to help keep families together who are living in the local community and at their most needy, desperate and have nowhere else to turn. To be eligible to apply to this fund you must live in County Durham and have a child or children living with you. This fund makes welfare grants of up to £500 to purchase essential domestic equipment and furniture.

Grant Awards
All applications will be assessed by CDCF and put forward to a panel or the donor for decision.

The decisions made by the panel or the donor will be final.

We aim to notify applicants about the outcome of their grant applications usually within 4 - 6 weeks of applying; however this is not always possible.
