Mick Danby Music Fund

This Fund supports activities which will develop the skills and improve the standard of existing choirs (and smaller singing groups), with particular encouragement given to choirs that don't require members to audition.

Some examples of things the Fund may help with:

- Workshops with external high quality coaches for the whole choir.

- Training and support for the choir leader if applicable.

- Coaching for individual choir members in areas such as vocal skills and sight-singing (for example, via an exam syllabus such as ABRSM).

- Choir outings to see concerts by 'high performing' choirs/groups.

In certain circumstances the Fund may also help with costs for things such as sheet music purchase, commissioning of vocal arrangements, and rehearsal venue fees.

The fund may also support the creation of singing opportunities for people who (due to a health condition, for example) may find it difficult to access what's currently available.

Applications are welcome from across the North East of England.
