Enriching Later Life Programme

The Enriching Later Life Programme (ELLP) aims to support people in later life to remain active, encouraging the potential of older people by providing opportunities to keep healthy, and improving their quality of life as they age. Funding is aimed towards projects that are focussed on people over the age of 50 years old including:

  • Mid-lifers who may have priorities at work, younger children, older parents, mortgages, pensions or challenges to their wellbeing
  • Older workers (aged 50 – 64+) who may have experience increased working hours and pressures, health limitations, caring and/or domestic responsibilities
  • Seniors who may be facing loneliness and isolation particularly if there has been a bereavement, retirement, poor health or disability

Funding is available for projects and activities that:

  • Encourage inclusion and reduce isolation
  • Improve health and wellbeing
  • Keep people engaged
  • Encourage intergenerational activity
  • Support action to tackle poverty in older people
  • Support increasing skills and confidence in older people
  • Target those in our communities that are the hardest to reach
  • Explore and encourage creativity for people who are isolated because of age

Size of Grant
Grants of up to £20,000 are available for projects running over two years or £10,000 for projects running over one year. If you are requesting two years’ funding you must make a clear case why this is needed.

When to Apply

Applications must be received before midnight Sunday, January 7th 2018, including all supporting documents. The decisions made by the panel will be final and all applicants will be notified about the outcome of their grant application no later than February 16th 2018.
