Darlington Education Trust Community First Fund

Criteria

The aim of the Darlington Education Trust Community First Fund is to provide grants to organisations who have direct links with one or more of the secondary schools/colleges within Darlington, and whose aims are to improve the education of the young people attending those schools/colleges.

Whilst the eligible schools/colleges may apply, priority will be given to charitable organisations:

  • providing extra curriculum activities
  • within close vicinity of the schools/colleges/academies who can prove a large percentage of the attendees also attend the local secondary school or college
  • working in partnership with the school/college/academy to provide educational activities within the curriculum timetable (for example Duke of Edinburgh, anti-drugs and alcohol awareness raising)
  • further afield that provide outward-bound activity weeks for example High Force, Dukes House Wood

At present no upper limit has been set, however, based on the value of funding available it is expected that the majority of grants awarded will not exceed £5,000.
